Legal Futures: New Professionals Reception 2026

We delighted to announce the date for the 2026 Legal Futures: New Professionals Reception, an annual event celebrating those beginning their legal careers.

Whether you're starting out as a trainee solicitor, solicitor apprentice, SQE apprentice/candidate/graduate or trainee, SQW/QWE candidate, paralegal, or pupil barrister, this reception offers a chance to connect with fellow new professionals and mark the start of your journey.

This year’s event will be held on Tuesday, 13th October 2026, at the National Justice Museum.

The reception will commence at 6pm and will be concluded by about 8.30pm. The event is free to attend, however registration is required for ALL those wishing to attend.

It is common practice for trainees, solicitor apprentices, SQE candidates/graduates, and pupils to attend accompanied by a representative from their firm, chambers, or organisation.

Trainees and Pupils should have commenced their Training Contract or Pupillage on or after 31st October 2025 and are still in training and those that have commenced their new legal career from 31st October 2026, be that as an SQE/QWE* candidate*, solicitor apprentice or paralegal.

*SQE/QWE candidates must be in employment with a member law firm.

The President, Drew Dennis and some members of the Council including the International Committee and the Education and Training Committee. There will also be representation from the Nottingham Junior Lawyers Division. The reception includes a welcome from the President and introductions from various members on Council from the Education & Training Committee, International Committee and NJLD, all quite brief, which is then followed by drinks and canapes and the opportunity to meet fellow colleagues from the City and County.
