Sole Practitioner Representative Aldijana Hoad

We would like to introduce you to the new Sole Pracitioner Representative on the Nottinghamshire Law Society Council, Aldijana Hoad.

Here is a blog from Aldijana on how she see's her role on Council:

I established my own law firm and have operated as a sole practitioner for over a year now. With prior experience of co-founding a law firm, I had knowledge of what was needed to set up and run a law firm. However, one of the challenges has been the lack of opportunities to connect with other sole practitioners.

The experience of being a sole practitioner can be isolating without colleagues to share knowledge with. Although, I have been fortunate to receive support from friends and former colleagues in the legal profession, having a dedicated network of individuals who can relate and have had similar experiences would have been invaluable.

This is why I eagerly accepted the opportunity to serve as a sole practitioner representative when a position became available at Nottinghamshire Law Society. Since there has not been a sole practitioner representative for several years, Michelle and I will be reaching out to sole practitioners in Nottinghamshire in the coming weeks. Our aim is to organise gatherings where we can connect, share knowledge, and provide support to one another. I would love there to be a thriving sole practitioners sub-committee that not only fosters mutual support but also creates a community for lawyers who establish their own law firms after me.

If you are sole practitioner, I kindly request that you complete a brief survey to help us understand what would be most beneficial to you. I look forward to meeting all of you in the near future.
