Rothera Bray has acted on behalf of the selling shareholders of Haines Watts (East Midlands) Limited, Haines Watts Nottingham Limited and Haines Watt Audit EM Limited on the sale of the Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester offices on its integration with TC Group.
TC Group, an Accountancy Age “Top 20” UK firm of business advisors and accountants, specialises in tailored accountancy and taxation solutions. With over 50 locations nationwide, the firm continues to expand its presence through this integration, which aligns with its ongoing M&A strategy.
As part of the transition, the Haines Watts Nottingham, Derby, and Leicester offices will now operate under the TC Group name, adding three new locations to the firm’s growing network. Additionally, Haines Watts Derby, Nottingham and Leicester will gain access to TC Group’s extensive national and international support network, enhancing their service capabilities.
The Rothera Bray team was led by Corporate Partner David Kaplan. Working with David were Senior Associate Liz Mills and Solicitor Liam Wicks. They were supported by Partner Catherine Angrave from the firm’s Commercial Property team and Managing Associate Rachel Mills from the Employment team.
Martin Bowles, Mark Roe and James Liptrott, partners at TC Group in Nottingham and Derby,
shared their experience working with Rothera Bray:
"We engaged Rothera Bray early in the process, having previously worked with David and his team and knowing that we would receive the best of their expertise and knowledge.
“We were consistently impressed by the whole team at all stages of the very tight schedule given to them, through to the delivery of an on-time successful completion. They will remain our go-to firm for corporate transactions, both for our own needs and for client referrals."
Shiran Wynter, Partner at TC Group in Leicester, added:
"The Rothera Bray team was easy to work with, highly accessible, and made what is typically a challenging process far more manageable. I would be happy to refer client work to them in the future."
David Kaplan commented “It was a pleasure working with the Haines Watts shareholders. We had a very tight timetable that did not allow for any slippage. The Rothera Bray team worked tirelessly to ensure that the transactions completed on the date targeted from the outset of the transaction. I wish Martin, Mark, James and Shiran all the best for the future. Being part of the TC Group is a great fit and will enable them to take the businesses to the next level.”
