Nottingham Mediation Team Expands In Response to Changes to FPRs
Recently merged practice Sills & Betteridge incorporating Campions Solicitors are responding to the April changes to the Family Procedure Rules by strengthening their Mediation service.
The changes allow courts to give stronger encouragement to separating couples to resolve their disputes before going to court, as well as changing court procedures to make it easier to divert families to out-of-court dispute resolution options if exemptions are not properly claimed, or parties have not tried other options.
The firm is also participating in the successful Family Mediation £500 Voucher Scheme, which runs until April 2025. The scheme has prompted a huge increase in the number of families (over 27,000 nationally) using mediation to help them reach agreements around child arrangements or child and financial arrangements more amicably and more quickly, than by going to court.
