Chinese New Year 2026

Celebrate the Year of the Horse with Us!

Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, is a vibrant celebration observed across the globe, marking the start of a new year according to the lunar calendar. Each year is represented by one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac, and in 2026, the festivities welcome the Year of the Horse—a symbol of energy, confidence, and forward momentum.

This year, Lunar New Year falls on Tuesday, 17th February, but we’re starting the celebrations early! Join us on Wednesday, 11th February at the Mandarin Restaurant for an evening of delicious food, cultural appreciation, and community spirit as we honour this important occasion together.

The Year of the Horse is traditionally associated with vitality, adventure, and progress—qualities that inspire optimism for the year ahead. Expect rich colours, festive traditions, and plenty of good cheer. Red, the dominant colour of the season, symbolises good fortune and happiness, and is believed to ward off bad luck, making it an essential part of the celebration.

Nottinghamshire Law Society is delighted to host this special event and wishes all those observing a very Happy New Year!
