Book of the Month - The Glassmaker - September 2025

The Society has collaborated with The Bookcase at Lowdham to provide our members with access to the newest literary works. This partnership also offers the chance to participate in book club discussions that delve into the stories, authors' writing styles, and narrative techniques. 

September showcases another Tracey Chevalier’s latest book The Glassmaker, described as "Ingenious" by The Times, Book of the Year. American author, Tracey Chevalier has written 11 books, including the globally acclaimed Girl with a Pear Earring.

The Glassmaker is set in Venice, 1486 and follows the heroine, Orsola Rossa, a Venetian glassmaker as she goes through time, war, plague, tragedy and triumph.

Join The Bookcase Book club to read and discuss The Glassmaker on Monday 29th September at either their afternoon or evening sessions:

·        Monday 29th September                        Time:  2:00pm – 3:30pm

·        Monday 29th September                        Time:  7:00pm – 8:30pm

Tickets include a copy of the book plus refreshments.
