WORKING WITH MEN WHO COMMIT CONTACT SEXUAL OFFENCES
Who should attend: An overview for Criminal Lawyers who represent defendants at all stages of the criminal justice process.

This seminar will look at the relevant theory which underpins the interventions offered to those convicted of sexual offences including aspects of denial.
It will look at some areas of behaviour that contribute to abusive sexual offending including the role of trauma, loss and poor early attachments.
It will explain the current assessment systems used within the Criminal Justice systems and assess risk & dangerousness: We examine the use of OASYs, OGRS, SARN and Risk Matrix 2000.
The session will examine what community & prison programmes offer and the implications for sentencing options.
It will look at multi-agency work including the role of MAPPA, supervision of licenses, Sex Offender Registration & Sex Offender Prevention Orders.
Course presenters are: Sue Tribe who has worked with sexual offenders since 1988 and has been involved in running accredited Prison & Probation treatment programmes and Judy Green who has worked in the Probation Service for over 35 years as a Probation Officer, working with high risk and dangerous offenders.
