This seminar will be of benefit to practitioners involved in conveyancing work. The seminar considers the subject of boundaries in registered land. It provides a guide to the relevant legislation and its implementation. The seminar also touches on practical problems that can arise – and deals with possible solutions. The impact of recent case law and the Land Registry’s practice in relation to boundaries will be explored.
The seminar will cover the following:-
• Physical and legal boundaries - the distinction
• General boundaries – an explanation
i) recent case law
ii) the Land Registry’s approach
• Determined boundaries – might an application be appropriate?
• Boundary agreements – and their effect
Course materials will be available to delegates.
The seminar will be presented by Annette Goss, until recently Land Registrar at Nottingham(East) Land Registry and Michael Taylor, Senior Assistant Land Registrar at Birkenhead Land Registry. Both are consultant Editors of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Handbook and have been involved in designing, developing and delivering seminars to legal practitioners and for Land Registry staff.
