CPD Courses

Our CPD Courses are shown in the calendar. Each course has a dedicated Booking form in PDF format which should be used when applying for a place on any course. It is downloaded by clicking on the Course Name. The PDF can be viewed, printed and saved from the site.

We welcome suggestions from members and other course users. If there are subjects that are not on the current programme but which you wish us to provide please contact Pauline Armstrong who will be more than happy to hear from you.

New courses will be added to the calendar as they are confirmed, so please revisit the site regularly for the latest information and updates. Some courses appear at short notice by their very nature and fill quickly. When courses are sold out, it is not always possible to arrange a repeat given the time commitments placed on presenters and tutors. You are asked to make bookings as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.

Management Course 1

Delivered by the  the experts at Fresh

Nottinghamshire Law Society’s Management Course Stage One programme is designed to meet the needs of solicitors in private practice, solicitors working in-house, lawyers for public and private sector organisations, as well as solicitors working in the advice sector.

The object of the programme is to provide delegates with a course that meets the Law Society’s compulsory training requirements for recently qualified solicitors by providing effective Management Training in the areas of Financial Management, Managing people, Information Management and Marketing / Client Relationship Management.

The Nottinghamshire Law Society programme makes use of small-group workshops and case-studies enabling delegates to apply their management skills. This programme is also suitable as seven hours of CPD for more experienced solicitors who wish to reinforce their management skills.

Professional Skills Course

Delivered by the  the experts at Fresh

The Professional Skills Course (PSC) is a compulsory course for trainee solicitors. Students must satisfactorily complete the course and pass an examination during their training contracts before they can qualify as Solicitors and apply for admission to the Roll. The Courses take place in the Autumn and the following Spring of each year and consist of three core modules.

In addition to the main core modules the PSC requirement includes a period of 24 hours of course attendance in optional topics or subjects. These are known as "The Electives" and each student will select his/her 24 hours (in either 6 hour or 3 hour topics) from a list.

For a list of dates refer to the individual courses on the website.
